Southtown and Cobholm: An Agreeable Suburb of Yarmouth

Description

Southtown is a long, low-lying, strip of land on the western side of the River Yare. At its southern end it adjoins Gorleston while to the north it leads to a former island known as Cobholm. This new booklet in the Town and Village series, and together with Gorleston:Short Blue to Pop’s Meadow, replaces our previous booklet on Southtown and Gorleston, first published in 1994. It completes a trilogy, with Great Yarmouth: A Sand in the Sea on the history of the communities at the mouth at the river Yare.
