Most orders are shipped on the next business day, with 98% shipped within two business days where the ordered items are in stock. If you have ordered an item marked as backordered, or pre-ordered a new title, we will ship as soon as the product becomes available – in the event that this is going to be longer than expected you will be notified and given the option of cancelling.
If an item is out of stock due to an error in our stockholding figures, or because multiple orders have been accepted through different channels within one day, you will be notified with the expected availability date and given the option of cancelling.
Retail Customers - UK
Most retail orders from our website are shipped by Royal Mail 48 service. We package every item in heavy duty cardboard packaging (we try to avoid plastic as far as possible, although have yet to find a good alternative to plastic tape).
Shipping costs for single book orders are calculated on size and weight and the rate that will be applied is shown on each product page. Rates are currently charged as follows:
- Small Packet up to 2kg £3.50
- Large letter, 750g £3.00
- Large letter, 500g £2.50
- Large letter, 250g £2.00
- Large letter, 100g £1.20
For multiple book orders, the rate is as above for the heaviest item, with £0.50 added per additional item of any weight. The total charge will be shown at checkout. Orders with a total value over £30 are shipped free of charge (note this doesn’t apply to addresses in offshore islands, Northern Ireland and some parts of the Scottish highlands).
Priority Shipping is available as an option at checkout with the cost depending on the total weight of the package. Priority orders are shipped within one business day of receipt (usually the same day if the order is placed in the morning), using a tracked next day delivery service.
Retail Orders - International
International shipping costs are calculate on weight and available services (we only use tracked services). To find the cost please add your product to the basket and then go to the basket and make sure you enter the correct shipping country to calculate shipping charge. Free shipping is not available on international orders.
Please note that we always ship international orders with a customs certificate and commercial invoice and you may be charged additional taxes and duties by the customs authorities in your own country. We have no control over this.
