We’ve had a few new books in over the last few weeks, and this email should bring you up to date. Don’t forget (I’m sure you haven’t) that Easter is coming up fast this year and there are barely two weeks to go before the school holidays. To be sure of getting your stock in time, please get your orders to us by Monday 25th March.
Stories of Norfolk life are always popular, and Barrie Lawrence has a good way of telling them that is entertaining. That’s not always what you would expect from a former dentist, but years of after-dinner speaking have taught him how to tell a good story. And Tales From A Country Boy is packed with good stories. His previous book, Big Blue Sky, has sold well, and this should as well.
Heather Peck is best known for her DCI Geldard Norfolk crime series, but she has just published her first stand-alone novel. Milestones follows the life of Aelfwyth, (wisely the author has written this in the first person so she doesn’t have to spell that name too often!) marked out by major events (the milestones of the title) in the wider world. Like any of us, Aelfwyth has to deal with life and death, with love and loss, and she considers whether she has made the right choices.

A year or two back, it looked like Philip’s had discontinued their popular county street atlases. But then they reprinted the 2016 Norfolk atlas, and now they have brought out two versions of an updated street atlas for Norfolk, similar to the Suffolk editions released last year. The Norfolk Navigator edition effectively replaces the old street atlas, while the Local Explorer edition is aimed more at the tourist and leisure market. In fact the map pages in both editions are identical, and apart from the covers the only difference is a couple of pages of tourist information in the Local Explorer. Incidentally we still have a few copies of the old Norfolk Street Atlas available, now reduced to £9.99.
And while we’re talking about travel, we have a new edition of the popular Rough Guide to Norfolk and Suffolk.
Finally, last but absolutely not least, is David Blake‘s latest in the DCI Tanner series. He seems to have strayed slightly outside his normal Broadland beat with this one, which is titled Swanton Morley. Expect more dead bodies and David’s usual non-stop action!
