Description
The Norfolk coast is home to some of the best golf courses in Britain, possibly in the world. Maybe not so famous as St. Andrews or Carnoustie, but good traditional courses at peace and harmony with their glorious surroundings. Most are approached through winding country lanes or can be found tucked away on the outskirts of seaside towns.
We should never take these courses for granted. In recent years high sea levels have flooded some parts of some courses and damaged expensive machinery. In other places the seas are eating into the crumbling cliffs.
Mark Fitch has accompanied stunning photographs of the many courses with personal descriptions and experiences of the course, together with important details of location, facilities, contact details and scorecard.
The courses included are:
- King’s Lynn
- Heacham Manor
- Searles Country Park, Heacham
- Hunstanton
- Royal West Norfolk, Brancaster
- Sheringham
- The Links, West Runton
- Royal Cromer
- Mundesley
- Great Yarmouth and Caister
- Gorleston
